世界経済フォーラム理事長のスピーチ

世界経済フォーラム(ダボス会議)の理事長、クラウス・シュワブ氏が、
おととい北京大学で講演したらしいので、英語学習の課題にしてみた。→全文
スピーチの英語は意外と簡単だから、分からない単語飛ばしてもなんとか分かる。
スピーチのテーマは２ページの２段落目
"I want to provide you with all the reasons why you should become stakeholders of the global society ? global citizens!"
なんとなく気になった部分貼り付けておくと、

"To summarize my remarks on the changing political context, we should recognize that business and other stakeholders such as civil society institutions are now influential global stakeholders in addition to governments."(P8)

"Therefore I see more opportunities for you for a fulfilled life than every previous generation has had. We have capabilities to build a world which is more prosperous, more peaceful and more harmonious."(P15)

ステイクホルダーって株式会社の話かと思ってたけど、こんな使い方もするんだ。
となんか妙にレベルの低いところで感心したりして(笑)
あと、来年のダボス会議のテーマは"connecting the dots"らしい。(P11)
